Who can read my email along the way and once it's arrived?

* There are several points where email can be read while its on the way to its destination.
1. 'Sent Items' - A local copy is often kept which isn't encrypted.
2. Packet Sniffers - An authorized (or unauthorized) party runs a packet sniffer and reads the message as it is transmitted.
3. Email Administrator - An authorized (or unauthorized) party reads the message while its waiting on a SMTP server.
4. 'Inbox' - An authorized (or unauthorized) party reads the message directly from your mailbox on a server.

All of the vulnerabilities of plain text email above are prevented by email encryption. This leaves the mathematical approach to compromizing the encryption key which would take hundreds of years of computational time.
