Systems Programmer II
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES –
Infrastructure:
? Provide support for the production enterprise backup solution ensuring the availability and integrity of critical data.
? Responsible for the daily monitoring, maintenance, constant operation, and support of all Windows 2000/2003 based systems.
? Ensure documented procedures and guidelines are updated and available.
? Track, prioritize and resolve open items relating to system maintenance, production system outages, or software applications as required.
? Consistently perform all administrative duties associated with role in a detailed and thorough manner (i.e., input all activities into incident tracking system, update system and network configuration documentation, provide status reports/progresses as required by the Operations Manager.
? Work with Operations Manager to automate the monitoring, system outage notification, and patch application process across production systems.
? Support, troubleshoot, and maintain the critical GHR enterprise applications (i.e., Email Virus Protection, Patch Deployment Systems, etc) as either the primary or backup resource.
? Assist in handling desktop support overflow.
Application Support Services:
? Performs Web site creation, deployment and maintenance.
? Assists Development in the creation of documented procedures and the implementation of automated tools to ensure rapid code migration.
? Provides direct support to Metavante customers as required.
? Monitor security events on servers and ensure security policies and practices are consistent on production servers according to Metavante’s standards. Assist in the enforcement of security policies as required by Metavante’s security policies.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE –
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems a plus. CCNA or equivalent training is also a plus.
TECHNICAL SKILLS – A strong working knowledge supporting Microsoft Windows based operating systems with a minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience in this capacity. Demonstrated skills maintaining and supporting environments where Microsoft Technologies are prevalent. IE: Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Server, Microsoft SQL 2000/2005, Internet Information Server 6.0, utilizing Active Server pages (ASP), Microsoft Active Directory. Experience with Wise installation procedures. Proficiency in working with and supporting Windows XP, 2000/2003 Server, Dell and Compaq Server Hardware. Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Clustering Technology, WINS, DNS, SMNP, FTP, Microsoft Office Automation applications, Ghost, ArcServe, MS Exchange, TCP/IP protocols.
WRITTEN/VERBAL SKILLS – Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
