Sr Software Developer

Job Description:

* Works closely with Project managers, Business and Development leads (technical, architectural, database) on projects in all stages of the software development lifecycle. Duties include design, review, coding, testing, and debugging new software or making enhancements to existing software. * Designs and develops APL applications and programs according to specifications from Architecture, Engineering, Business analysts or higher-level staff. * May use CASE tools and object modeling methodologies * Proposes development approaches to problem solutions or software enhancements. * May assist with development of user documentation. * Works with technical staff to understand problems with production software. Maintains and enhances existing APL applications within a dynamic, multi-node client-server J2EE/Unix environment. * Provides technical support to business analysts and production operators. Supports projects in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including software design, review, prototyping, construction, unit testing, technical documentation, and implementation.

Skills Required:

* 4+ years of professional software development experience in APL required * Excellent creative problem solving ability * Excellent written and oral communications skills * Commitment to promoting strong team-oriented development * Knowledge of portfolio management, or experience in the financial industry a plus * Experience with object modeling processes (ex. RUP), a plus

Skills Desired:

* 4+ years of C# development equivalent with array classes * Excellent knowledge of C#; experience with Dyalog APL for Windows or AIX a plus.

Education Required:

* BS Math/Computer Science or equivalent required (MS preferred)
