Software Engineer
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Design, development, integrating, and testing of software applications used in support of UAS programs.
* Develop and validate software for real-time embedded control systems.
* Develop simulation and interfacing applications for the testing of embedded software.
* Participate in generating system requirements as well as developing and analyzing the detailed software requirements.
* Will work closely with a small team of software developers supporting unmanned air systems and other on-going R & D programs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & BACKGROUND:
* BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
* 2 years experience in both embedded and application software lifecycle development including:
* defining and documenting requirements.
* object oriented software architecture and design.
* programming and testing.
* source code configuration management.
* Fluent in C , C++, Visual Basic and/or C#.
* Prefer experience programming in a Windows and/or Linux environment.
* Prefer experience in conducting software verification, validation, and testing.
* Experience with DirectShow application development a plus.
* Experience with Visual Studio .NET development, and .NET Framework concepts and classes, debugging and performance tuning.
* Experience in GUI development a plus.
* Experience with VxWorks RTOS or other commercial RTOS desired.
* Experience intergrating 3rd party software packages a plus.
* Technical knowledge and experience with the following standards are desired:
* Serial communications protocols (RS232, USB, etc).
* Network communications (TCP/IP, UDP, etc).
* Aircraft communication protocols (1553, IEEE 1394, ARINC 429, etc).
* Government project experience a plus.
* Familiarity with CMMI processes and procedures a plus.
* Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink, Real-Time Workshop, and/or LabView a plus.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
