Java/J2EE Technical Project Lead

Primary Responsibilities · Manages assigned projects from concept through delivery and support. Responsible for successful and timely project completion. · Coordinates project deliverables and support across all areas of the organization and with vendors. · Develops project plans and establishes milestones for specific deliverables. · Manages the day-to-day tasks of development team members. · Alerts management to project issues such as cost, schedule or scope changes. · Work and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and externally with vendors. · Customer focus: a passion for meeting and exceeding customer expectations. · Develop effective interpersonal networks within the organization. · Meet frequently with users of project teams to establish system specifications and resolve problems. · Regularly provide technical interpretation and guidance on most complex computing problems.

Qualifications Desired Specific Experience/Exposure

· Managing projects and activities involved with software development for the web, particularly with Java and related technologies.

· Track record of effective organization and communications/reporting.

· Demonstrated aptitude and enthusiasm for management activities in a technical context.

· Commercial software development experience preferred. Understanding software development and support practices in a large organization required.

· Familiarity with contemporary and effective methods for software development, build, test, deployment, and support required.

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.

· Several years work experience, including at least 2 years in a technical project management role required.

· Expert knowledge of information technology concepts, terminology and practices.

· Expert knowledge of effective project management practices.

· Expert facility with communication and documentation tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and Visio.

· Experience managing offshore development teams is a big plus.

· Familiarity with security technologies (encryption, authentication, authorization, audit) is a plus. Core Competencies
