Sr. Network and Systems Engineer
Primary Responsibilities & Objectives:
· Server management, system backup, and recovery, provide user/client support and maintenance. Perform software upgrades and general application support.
· Work on infrastructure technology initiatives as assigned by IT manager and VP Infrastructure. Initial areas will be in next generation storage architecture, server Monitor overall infrastructure performance. Identify troublesome trends as they develop and work with IT teams to apply solutions and fixes to help prevent recurrence.
· Identify technologies to help improve productivity within IT departmen.
· Provide day-to-day support, and on-call system administration assistance, and first and second level trouble-shooting for assigned systems.
· The position requires project execution discipline, efficient communications, strong attention to details, and commitment to aggressive delivery schedules.
Qualifications, Skills & Education:
· BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, plus 3-5 years stable professional work experience required.
· You have recent hands on skills architecting and developing enterprise-class systems and services based on fault tolerant, failover, and redundancy requirements.
· Proven expertise in administration of Windows platforms: Active Directory, MS Windows 2000/2003, MS IIS, MS SQL servers...
· Professional skills on networking technology such as routers, switches, firewalls is required. VPN/VPN-SSL experience is a plus.
· Strong IP and Fiber based storage background such as SAN, NAS and iSCSI required.
· Strong know-how in comprehensive Backup, recovery, and archiving solutions such as Veritas Backup Exec, Net Backup, and other data replication technologies such as Shadow copy, Vice Versa, etc.
· Exposure to server clustering (Veritas), large Citrix farms, and virtualization technology such as VMWare GSX/ESX a major plus.
· Knowledge of RedHat Linux or OpenBSD is a plus but not required.
· Strong communication skills. Demonstrated experience in project execution, multi-tasking, and strong attention to detail.
