, Programmer Analyst (ORACLE E-Business Applications)

Support Oracle modules and the customers who use them. Support of other modules as either primary, secondary or backup support. Maintaining extensive knowledge of assigned modules, understanding the integration implications of assigned modules with full system, and troubleshooting and resolving technical problems with the Oracle software. Maintain awareness of business processes and needs of users; providing advice to users on methods for improving the use of existing modules; responding to user requests routed from ISD Service Desk, initiation and follow-up of Service Requests (SRs) via My Oracle Support; attending all section technical meetings and required customer meetings.

Assist with implementation of new Oracle modules, associated 3rd-party add-on software, and document functionality within an existing module. Work with end users to map business practices, identify gaps, and propose/implement solutions. Document and place into production.

Remain up-to-date in current technology and related support tools, primarily Oracle applications, PL-SQL, and Discoverer, and relevant PC desktop technologies such as Microsoft Office.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, business administration, or a related scientific/engineering field and two - ten years of job-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience with Windows Operating Systems (currently XP and Vista); Microsoft Office Suite; Oracle or other large relational database management systems. Must understand Oracle database and applications underlying structure and processes. Must understand Oracle Support facilities and be able to apply the necessary technologies to support incremental upgrades and problem resolution (i.e., obtain software patches and develop test environments, coordinate testing by end users and technical staff, and communicate to DBA and other support professionals). Requires effective communication skills, and continuous skills enhancement in customer service approaches. Good problem-solving skills and fostering of others' skills and confidence in technology; fostering a cooperative work environment required. Oracle applications or other large COTS application support experience desirable. Experience with reporting tools such as Discoverer; development tools such as PL/SQL considered a plus.
