Lead Java Developer
* Be a sounding board for Analysts/Developers/Quality Assurance and oversee the overall coding effort as it relates to all components of the architecture.
* Provide governance to the review processes and effectively communicate out project status.
* Act as the primary interface to the architecture team and influence architectural decisions based on their platforms needs and the usage of tools to support the Business Intelligence architecture.
* Responsible for setting Annuities Information Technology (AIT) coding standards, establishing/maintaining best practices, adopting the CMMi framework and driving these principles throughout Delivery.
* Ensure consistent on-time, within estimate delivery of quality systems initiatives in accordance with agreed upon plans.
* Ensure all metrics data is collected for all critical processes during the Design and the Development Phases of the SDLC lifecycle.
* Other duties and / or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis.
* 8 + years of experience in web based applications software development for complex business applications using most recent J2EE tools and techniques.
* Minimum 5 years of web development experience including web enabled applications using Websphere, XML, UML and Object Oriented analysis and Design.
* Experience in development activities with WebSphere Portal 5+ and 6+ environments, XML Access and Portlet Development.
* Competent to work at a technical level for all phases of applications activities.
* Core Java / J2EE / Portal
* Advance designed patterns
* SQL skills (preferably Oracle)
* Apache projects - like Struts, Tomcat, Commons, ANT, MAVEN and others
* Web services frameworks
* WebSphere Testing framework (JUnit)
* Basic UNIX scripting knowledge
