Systems Engineer
• Provide comprehensive hardware, network, and application support for development, testing, and production environment for a multi-release schedule.
• Maintain managed environments in a known state. Track, document, and report on changes and deployment activities through existing tools and services.
• Participate in planning, preparation (including Quality Control check), deployment, validation, and review phases of all deployment activities assisting with deployment scheduling, forecasting, and reviews.
• Perform and complete scheduled work items related to Windows and Application Systems administration and support.
• Provide system administration for supported systems and applications including but not limited to reoccurring maintenance activities, password changes, security patch and IPAK review, prep, deployment and validation.
• Perform property specific post-OS deployment and interim configuration for web, utility, and SQL servers.
• Install developed feature code to the servers via Octopus, documentation, and automation scripts when a server is initially built, and then throughout the life of a server as feature code changes are made.
o Setup and configure web and utility services/features including ITS, Passport Site IDs, and Webstore.
o Backup and restore databases to SQL servers. Administer, configure, and maintain numerous databases on several different SQL server functional types.
• Update documentation to correct out of date or incorrect information and create new documentation to define process.
• Use a variety of software applications to deploy and maintain servers. These include Octopus to deploy product, Octopus Password Updater (MS Internal) to maintain service account passwords.
• Troubleshoot complex issues from email, tickets, and product studio queries (bugs). Drive issues to resolution.
• Update ticket fields upon receipt (Problem Type, Problem Sub Type, Problem Sub-type item, Property).
• Effective introduction of approved changes into the Operations Production, Pre-Production, and Integration environments quickly and with minimal disruption of service.
• Participate in planning, preparation (including Quality Control check), deployment, validation, and review phases of all deployment activities assisting with deployment scheduling, forecasting, and reviews.
• Maintain configuration information for IT-related components.
• Draft, review, and update Operations documentation, but not to Octane based Knowledge base articles. Troubleshooting guides, implementation plans, deployment plans, Operating procedures, and other process related documents.
• Prepare for and attend and participate in Daily Live Site status meetings.
• Perform and complete scheduled work items related to Windows and Application Systems admin and support.
