Sr. Production Web Designer
Responsibilities
- Create visually engaging, scalable product design solutions for next generation web and mobile products
- Work with the team on visual design initiatives from concept exploration through final design deliverables, including comps, prototypes, design specs, and style guides
- Create visual designs that effectively communicate brand and product identity, including design and production of concept sketches, mockups, prototypes, layouts, color palettes, typography, iconography, and user interface components
- Develop multiple concepts based on use cases and product requirements
- Translate usability findings into design improvements
- Help develop design patterns, standards, and best practices to define and implement design criteria
- Communicate visual design strategy and rationale to key stakeholders
- Collaborate with product managers, interaction designers, content specialists, and developers to deliver innovative design solutions for products
- Stay up to date with latest technology, industry, and design trends
Skills Required
- Strong visual and UI design skills, with the ability to lead large-scale design projects to successful completion
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills, and the demonstrated ability to design elegant user interfaces
- Strong problem solving skills and an understanding of user-centered design principles
- Passionate about design, a positive “can-do” attitude, and the ability to be highly creative within an agile development process
- Ability to see the big picture while maintaining careful attention to detail
- Proficient in turning a vision into concepts and then translating these concepts into product designs
- Good understanding of front-end web technologies and their impact on the feasibility of proposed design solutions—hands-on expertise with HTML, CSS and AJAX
- Must be a self-starter and able to manage multiple complex projects with tight deadlines
- Must be knowledgeable of latest developments in social media, and mobile markets
- Comfortable with following direction and able to establish priorities and achieve results
- Expert knowledge of standard design tools (such as Adobe Creative Suite) is required
- Strong communication and people skills for working in a multidisciplinary, collaborative environment
- Experience with mobile product is a plus
Minimum Requirements
- Portfolio showcasing excellent design capabilities in a variety of styles
- Four-year degree in Visual Design
- Graduate degree a plus
- 5+ years experience in designing visual interfaces for web products
