Sr Software Development Engineer
This individual will be an active participant in code design and development for major software products and systems serving large segments of the mobile industry. The candidate will serve as a senior Java programmer and software architect, able to provide technical solutions and communicate well across teams. Other responsibilities include production problem solving and support. The position requires computer science or engineering degree, and 10+ or more years of software engineering and programming. Ideal candidates will have extremely solid core Java skills, experience working in high transaction/high availability environments, strong work-ethics and perform well under tight deadlines.
Job Requirements:
• Bright, self-motivated, strong communication skills, highly creative and adept at problem solving
• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer or Systems Design Engineering is required
• 4+ years of Java application design and development
• Strong analysis, design and implementation skills
• In-depth knowledge and experience in server side Java and core libraries, threading and concurrency, design patterns, object oriented design experience
• Solid understanding of database, SQL, XML
• Experience with agile development methodologies is desired
• Familiarity with XMPP is a definite plus
• Familiarity with SMPP is a definite plus
• Familiarity with J2ME is a plus
• Familiarity developing apps for iPhone and Android platforms is a definite plus
• Networking (TCP/IP) knowledge, as well as programming on Solaris UNIX and Linux is also a plus
