* Self starter
* Minimum 5-7 years building successful, enterprise-scale, business solutions
* Extensive experience developing in Linux/Unix environments
* Demonstrable expertise developing server-side applications in Java
* Demonstrable expertise developing with SQL data stores
* Expertise with third-party and open source components delivering scalability, concurrency, transaction control, messaging, security, etc
* Experience with and preference for Agile processes, especially Scrum
* Advocate of Agile techniques like continuous integration and self-testing with automation and unit tests
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for team collaboration, comfortable communicating with groups
* Design and development of Distributed Computation solutions on Big Data with Hadoop or grid frameworks
* Experience with Data Mining, Machine Learning, and/or Computational Mathematics and Statistics
* BS/MS in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics and/or relevant work experience
* Work extremely well independently, with strong self-direction and initiative, as well as within a team structure
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
