System Software Support Engineer
: Interface with project engineers to understand all project software requirements.
: Provide consulting and work direction to the Global Design Center during the development of custom Systems software.
: Review sequence of operations and all necessary design documents to understand each project's software needs.
: Check software quality through simulation techniques.
: Update functional test procedures as needed.
: Prepare the applicable HMI test procedure for the shop.
: Load PLC and HMI software for the shop testers.
: Load protective relay settings for the shop.
: Support shop testing and troubleshooting as needed.
: Archive final PLC, HMI and Network software.
: Archive final protective relay factory settings.
: Help group leaders and master scheduler in developing project schedules.
: Monitor and work to the project milestones.
: Support software template improvement and maintenance initiatives.
: Support software process improvement initiatives whether it be creation, maintenance or archiving practices.
: Support all infield software issues with DFSE's, Systems Field Service Technicians and Systems Sales Engineers as necessary.
: Participate in Six Sigma improvement teams.
: Support the Standards group as required.
: BS in electrical in electrical engineering.
: Experience with CPG products is highly desired. Experience with electrical power systems is highly desired.
: Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI).
: Experience with reading control schematics.
: Experience in working with global, cross-cultural teams.
: Demonstrated work experience in the design, development, test and production of products.
: Proficient in the use of DFSS and DMAIC Six Sigma tools.
: Strong communication skills both written and oral, combined with above average PC skills [excel, word, Visio, power point and project].
: Knowledge and application of problem solving tools.
