Java Front-end Developer
1.Performs the full range of software development activities across the entire lifecycle for complex software products. Assignments may include but are not limited to: understanding the customer needs, generating functional and technical specifications, planning and designing new features and/or functionality, analysis and programming activities at the product module, and sub-systems level, as well as integrated and systems wide level, creating or improving installation protocols for a variety of platforms, etc. Works on loosely defined problems with the ability to come up with creative and effective solutions.
2.Performs testing to assure product quality, including unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits. Researches software and interoperability problems uncovered by Development, QA, Support, Services or customers and develops solutions to those problems.
3.Prepares technical documentation for new and modified features and functionality for use internally and externally.
4.Provides product expertise to Sales, Services and Support personnel, especially as related to new product, new functionality, upgrades and maintenance releases. May assist with onsite customer work such as installation, implementation and beta-test support, or gathering specifications, designing and creating product customizations.
5.Stays current on technology developments, researches emerging technology and new development tools;, and continues to expand skills in related areas of technology.
6.May help develop methodologies and software standards in completing development assignments to assure quality, ease of future development and interoperability and makes recommendations on process improvements. Prepares specifications and development plans for assignments. Provides on-going status updates to management and uses knowledge of project management concepts and practices to assure that assignments are completed on time and according to specifications. May be responsible for delegating and overseeing the assignments of other developers.
7.Provides leadership and mentoring to other members of the development team and trains new team members on product, methodologies, internal tools and standards.
8. Works effectively with cross-functional teams to plan and deliver short-term and long-term product initiatives.
9.Other related duties and projects as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, math or related field or the equivalent in education and experience. Training in Project Management and Software CMM desirable.
