Java Application Developer
• Develop and maintain software and services using the Java language
• Contribute to and lead architecture and design activities
• Review the requirements, assess the work effort, and estimate the necessary time-to-completion
• Participate in projects through various phases
• Deploy Linux server solutions to house applications
• Communicate professionally and effectively to our users, management, and other departments
• Create unit test plans and scenarios for development unit testing
• Work with peers to carry out code reviews and unit testing of new development
• Document new development, procedures or test plans as needed
• Provide technical leadership for various development projects
• Minimum 5 years experience with software development in Java technologies including, JDK, JDBC, J2EE, JSP, ANT, JavaScript
• Minimum 5 years experience with software development in web application technologies including, Web Services, HTML, DHTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS
• Minimum 3 years experience in Linux server technology
• Minimum 3 years experience in web service development
• Bachelors degree in Information Systems or Computer Engineering plus 6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong programming skills in Java, Microsoft SQL, and iPhone/iPad development
• Strong experience developing relational data models, stored procedures and software with multi-layer architecture
• Experience with and preference developing data-centric applications
• Experience with web services and service-oriented architecture concepts
• Experience with object-oriented design and development principles
• Experience with large scale application development and implementation
• Experience with XML DTDs and XML Schemas
• Experience using agile development methodology such as scrum is a plus
• Understanding of workflow engines and ETL tools
• Proficiency in business application planning and development
• Proven expertise developing project documentation such as business process flow diagrams, Test Plans, Conversion Plans, and Training Materials
• Ability to work under aggressive deadlines and meet project commitments
• Strong interpersonal skills are required to work effectively with team members, clients and other IT areas
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Strong decision making skills
• Media and/or entertainment industry experience desired
