Applications Architect
* Evaluate new projects to determine best development platform to deploy solutions
* Research and evaluate vendor solutions, frameworks, evolving technologies, standards, and understand potential impact on current or future solutions
* Evaluate new project proposals using business valuation models and provide recommendations to senior leadership team, that will improve cost effectiveness and systems flexibility
* Act as liaison between the senior leadership team and IT to ensure IT’s strategic direction aligns with the business’ strategy and growth opportunities
* Ensure that software, security and infrastructure improvements achieve the business, technical, and architectural goals established for the project and strategic roadmap
* Take creative approaches to problem solving and apply innovative methods; encourage innovation
* Communicate with all levels of management, across LOB and IT management on technical discussions
* Acquire the necessary technical and business knowledge to perform technology evaluation to support LOB operations and software developments needs
* Document the company’s existing systems architecture and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives
* Minimum of 7 years of full-lifecycle application architect experience
* Proven ability to translate business requirements into high value technical solutions
* Experience managing/leading a wide range of technical skills to design and develop an open architecture and development processes
* Experience working with various development methodologies, with recent experience in Agile, XP, or Scrum preferred
* Ability to quickly gain trust with business and technical counterparts and forge strong partnerships and leadership.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to audiences with varying technical knowledge
* Broad knowledge and experience of all layers of the modern IT technology stack, including hardware, operation systems, networks, application frameworks, storage, database systems, and industry trends
* Excellent track record of balancing and prioritizing technical leadership and problem resolution across a diverse and concurrent set of IT projects in order to deliver on project milestones
* Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
* Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
* Exceptional understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
* Strong interpersonal and consultative skills
* Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
* Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
* Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Engineering
