Software/Java Architect
* Create detailed design specifications for a large scale development effort.
* Provide technical advice or consultation on difficult programming applications to other staff members.
* Collaborate with product management to produce functional specifications, including feasibility assessments, engineering time estimates, and strategic value assessments.
* Interact daily with team members to ensure that a quality product is delivered in a timely manner.
* Must be able to work in an Agile/Scrum collaborative team environment.
* Highly collaborative team player interested in working on high performing teams.
* Extensive experience with Java Application Architecture
* Services Oriented Architecture, OO Design Skills, Enterprise Application Patterns
* Solid background with Linux, MVC, ORM, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, RESTful and SOAP Services
* Development abilities with Java, Oracle, WebLogic, JMS Queues
* Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications
* Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
* Translate detailed design specifications into computer software.
* Prepare required user documentation, including diagrams, flow charts, and software program documentation.
* Work on a team in a collaborative environment to build the best solution using the Scrum methodology of project development
* Willingness to share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and learn new technologies
* Maintain good working relationship with internal and external contacts
* Assist with mentoring of new staff on tasks, department standards, procedures, and requirements
* Attend and participate in staff meetings
* Complete special projects and/or research as assigned
* Participate on medium and large scale development efforts as primary implementation engineer
* Decide on technical approach for web and mobile solutions – verify decision with principal engineer and project manager
* Final authority on creating configuration and deployment plan when operating as technical lead.
* Maintain ongoing knowledge of departmental procedures
* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and 5+ years of experience
