Administrator, IT Systems
Confers with vendors and other services as appropriate to ensure that system-wide upgrades are done appropriately. This includes responsibility for managing the process/project of developing, testing, evaluating and finally installing upgrades and/or new software as appropriate.
*Requires 4-year related degree and 2 years of related experience or 6 years of a combination of related college and related experience or 6+ years of related experience. Related experience is defined as experience in IT administration to include, but not limited to, desktop support, server support, and network administration.
*Requires strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, IPSEC, etc.) and network services such as DHCP, DNS, and WINS. Ability to resolve incidents with DNS issues.
*Demonstrated strong understanding of Active Directory and Distributed File Services (DFS)
*Demonstrated strong follow through and customer commitment/communication
*Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both orally and in writing
*Ability to listen effectively
*Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties including external and internal customers
*Strong attention to details and the ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
*Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment within departmental and legal guidelines
*Ability to maintain confidentiality
*Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelines.
*Ability to recognize, analyze and solve problems successfully
*Ability to learn, and apply knowledge in an effective and efficient manner
*Ability to organize and prioritize workflow to meet established timeframes
*Ability to keep all stakeholders informed as necessary
