JAVA Programmer
* Develops codes, tests, and debugs new report modules or enhancements to existing report modules.
* Performs maintenance on existing report modules and contributes knowledge of underlying business processes and their impact on report data and presentation.
* Writes reporting programs according to specifications needed.
* Works with the technical staff to understand problems had with reports and/or presentation of data and then resolves them.
* Resolves customer complaints with the report modules and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
* Contributes to the development and maintenance of report module documentation such as Users’ Guides, Training Artifacts or Operations and Maintenance Manuals.
* Provides leadership and guidance to junior members of the project team.
* Possesses knowledge of commonly-used data and reporting concepts, practices and procedures
* Expert working knowledge of Cognos Impromptu or Powerplay
* Expert working knowledge of a variety of report development products, such as Oracle Reports or SAS
* Documented experience with Java/J2EE web services development
* BI experience is desirable
* Ability to work independently or under only general direction
* Experience leading, directing and mentoring junior staff
* Ability to multi-task, be extremely organized, work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and be very detail oriented
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* An Associate’s Degree in Information Systems or comparable field is highly desirable but can be offset with additional years of experience in a related field
* 3-5 years experience in the IT field
