Senior Java Developer
Refactor the CLASS application for performance to the extent possible in the available timeframe
Provide technical expertise on Java Performance
Liaises with coworkers and customers to ensure proper application configurations and identify/enact hardware performance efficiencies
Employ industry standard best practices for integration patterns
Document the enhancements made to improve CLASS performance
Develop test scripts and perform system and unit end to end testing
Work with users and developers/programmers to correct recurring problems and troubleshoot critical issues
Balance multiple and competing priorities
Bachelors degree in computer science, computer software, or related field
5+ years experience with Java
Applicable certifications, to include Security+ (or equivalent), are a plus
Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
5+ years of design, analysis (experience conceptualizing and maneuvering through cascading dependencies) and application support experience
2+ years experience integrating/operating Java applications on an Oracle 10g/11g infrastructure
Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 5/SE 6
Experience interfacing with teams
Strong autonomy and interpersonal skills
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Knowledge of portals and/or single-sign-on is a plus
Knowledge of DoD secure coding requirements and implementation is a big plus
Self-motivated with minimal oversight.
Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
