Senior Software Engineer, Java Platform
Write server-side code for backend applications, create robust high-volume, scalable applications, & build prototypes quickly
Evangelize best practices in architecture, design & clean code
Design and build search solutions with Elastic Search, unstructured data mining, search query commands and real time data collections and processing
Conduct design reviews and ensure that the design/implementation is highly modular, portable and performance optimized
10+ years of overall Software Development experience
Deep technical understanding of complex, high throughput, multi-tier, highly scalable and fault tolerant customer facing web applications
Breadth and depth of experience in search solutions with Lucene, Elastic Search, Solr, unstructured data mining, search query commands and real time data collections and processing
Heavy experience with the Hadoop ecosystem – HDFS, MapReduce, Pig, Hive, Hbase, Zookeeper etc
First-hand experience in using predictive techniques on Mahout, such as logistic regression, Naive Bayes, SVM, and decision trees
Work closely with engineers to design and architect solutions, eager to mentor team members
Motivated self-starter, able to be highly productive working alone or in a team. Must work well with limited supervision, capable of juggling with multiple priorities, and able to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment!
