Software Engineer - C/C++
Design and develop embedded software and Windows-based applications for analytical instrumentation
Provide detailed software requirements and validation documentation.
Provide estimates of project timelines and milestones
Track status of design and project timing
Provide comprehensive test, documentation and commentary support for the designed software
Work with a cross functional team for software design input that incorporates electrical and mechanical design criteria
Work with software Quality Assurance to support testing requirements
Troubleshoot and improve existing instrument control software as required
Complete training on development tools, new technologies, product development lifecycle as it is offered
Communicate regularly with other R&D team members and other company sites and functions
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Design, implement and test software algorithms and functional specifications
Provide work breakdown estimates
May assign project related software tasks to other software development or software quality assurance engineers as directed by project manager
Propose project equipment/supplies/suppliers as needed
Propose product, procedure, and process improvements
Propose new technologies, tools or development methodologies
Propose capital equipment purchases related to software development
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a deep understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures
Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways
