Web Developer
As a News Applications Developer you will work closely with other news apps editors and reporters on the investigative and city desks, helping them research and present their work. You will also screen scrape, deal with data, visualize and explore information, and seek truth. Huddling and sketching with reporters, you will imagine ways to present information and tell stories on the web.
Writing GUI code, mining data and managing servers.
Data science (statistics, exploratory data analysis, R)
Information design (charts, graphs, etc)
Maintaining high-performance web sites
Building and maintaining social media or crowdsourcing applications
A passion for news
An understanding of the inner workings of the web
Attention to detail
Superior programming skills and experience in the craft of making software
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Programming experience
Knowledge and acceptance of Tribune’s mission and strategy
Excellent command of oral and written English and Spanish
