Entry-level Software Engineer
Performs a variety of software assignments, under close guidance, requiring the application of basic engineering and scientific principles and techniques.
Participate in the development of software design and code for reliable, high quality embedded and desktop software targeted to complex medical instruments meeting regulatory standards.
Responsible for daily software activities including communication across discipline teams in order to deliver software projects on-time and on-budget.
Work with other members of the software team to execute code and design reviews
Utilize software engineering best practices (unit testing, code reviews, design documentation)
May write test specifications or procedures.
Work cooperatively within the software group as well as across disciplines such as systems, electrical, optical and mechanical.
Qualifications
BSCS, BSEE, or BS Math
This is an entry-level position. No post-gradaute engineering experience is required.
Incumbents must possess a knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, principles and languages that will enable their practical application in the solution of technical problems.
Experience with one or more of the following is preferred: C/C++, Java, C#
Lab and/or internship experience is a decided advantage.
Experience with software for hardware instruments / devices is a plus.
Must possess good organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills
