Sr. Java Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processes or to improve existing pricing systems; writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program.

Provides technical knowledge, system design techniques, methodologies, tools, and standards utilized in the IT and business environment; obtains support of the design and for building, testing, and delivering the system solution in a timely manner.

Analyzes current operational procedures, identifies opportunities for improvement; implements or modifies procedures and/or processes to solve business issues considering alternatives and limitations, environment and desired results.

Reviews computer system capabilities, workflows, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system; studies existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develops new systems to improve production or workflow, as required.

Prepares workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail operations to be performed by equipment and computer programs and operations to be performed; adheres to the IT Software Development Life Cycle.

Works on projects that may involve interfaces across diverse hardware platforms, with multiple programming languages, development tools or data access tools.

Plans and prepares technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program development.

Upgrades system and corrects errors to maintain system after implementation.

Performs routine to moderately complex analysis and design for business applications.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field and five years of IT experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with the following: Developing web applications preferably using JSF ICEfaces, Hibernate and Spring frameworks is preferable JEE compliant application servers such as JBOSS, Tomcat, etc. Relational databases, preferably Oracle Ability to analyze and solve problems, provide guidance and instruction to users, interact with user community of varying levels, as well as, the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users. Excellent analytical and proactive communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to total quality and the process of continuous improvement. Skill in understanding programming languages. Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks.
