Software Engineer
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with front-end mobile teams to create applications that rely on these common set of backend data models and read write services
Create standards and best practices around sate-less RESTful APIs
Document APIs and prepare educational material for developers
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Solid experience in software development, preferably in distributed computing environments or big data platforms.
Expertise and experience in one or more of the following languages: Java, C#, Python and C/C++.
Hands-on experience with Map Reduce programming.
Experience with Jenkins, Git.
Good understanding and working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
Advanced knowledge of API's, JSON, BI concepts and processes (e.g. ETL, data aggregation and analysis) a must.
Solid understanding of TDD
Understanding of web protocols including HTTP, SOAP, etc.
Experience with search systems (e.g. Solr, Elastic Search, Endeca)desirable.
Experience working in an Agile environment
