Programmer Analyst - C# / SQL Server
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field without additional experience
Completion of a technical training program in software development programming language and eight years business experience will also qualify
High school diploma or GED and ten years experience will also qualify
Strong verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts
Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills
Good project management skills, operating as part of a team organizing, planning and executing projects
Good troubleshooting skills
Primary Responsibilities
Perform analysis of business and user needs, document requirements and translate into proper system requirement specifications
Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging deployment, and documentation
Works with development manager to estimate, plan, and execute team projects
Guides team members in practice of development methodologies
May act in liaison capacity with other departments, divisions and organizations
Evaluates progress and results and recommends major changes in procedures
Develop general and application-specific best practices and knowledgebase
Qualifications
7+ years of Application Development Experience
3 to 5 years of object oriented design skills and familiarity with advanced design patterns and best practices
3 to 5 years of MS SQL Server application development and very strong database design skills
Functional knowledge of the following technologies
C#
Web technologies - Javascript / JQuery / Ajax / CSS
MS MVC
Principles of N-Tier architecture
Ability and willingness to learn new technologies quickly
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
Working knowledge of software infrastructure including windows servers, web servers, firewalls, load balancers etc.
Strong experience in software estimation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to develop strong internal and external client relationships
Preferred but not required
Java/J2EE experience a strong plus
Experience implementing and governing SDLC methodologies
Websphere development and configuration
Knowledge of banking and payment systems are a plus
