Desktop Security and BUR Lead
Job Responsibilities
Desktop Application Owner and Subject Matter Expert for Core Security Software including:
o Anti Virus (Symantec)
o DLP (Symantec)
o Hard Drive Encryption (MBAM)
o Qualys (future) etc…
Application Owner and Subject Matter Expert for the Mozy Backup and Recovery Service
o Daily monitoring of MozyPro console to:
§ Identify and remediate clients that have not performed recent backups
§ Remove inactive clients
§ Monitor license availability
Provide 3rd level application support for security and backup software
Primary interface and liaison between End User Computing and Security Operations
o Patch Management
o Security Standards & Baselines
o Project Support
o Vulnerability Scanning
o Audit and Compliance
o Security product selection, road maps, strategy, etc…
Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of supporting Windows Desktop Systems.
Knowledge of the Mac Platform and OS X is also a benefit
Experience with installing, configuring and supporting Windows based security products such as…
Symantec Endpoint Protection
AntiVirus
Firewall
Symantec DLP
BitLocker Drive Encryption
Experience with configuring Windows system settings and security policies through Active Directory Groups and GPOs
Familiarity with software distribution and patch management for Windows Systems through standard Microsoft Tools and Technologies such as SCCM
General understanding of desktop security concepts and best practices
Familiarity with PC Backup Technologies and Services
Strong communication skills, both oral and written to all levels of management and staff
Effective problem solving, analysis and follow-up skills
Ability to follow through with problem resolution quickly and communicate status throughout resolution cycle
Willingness to learn and to take on additional responsibilities
Proven ability to work as part of a team
Self-directed and proactive
Positive can do attitude and the ability to adapt to change
